Kaohsiung (Taiwan),
Kusan Presbyterian Church

Die Orgel der Kusan Presbyterian ChurchThe bright and delicate architecture of the Kusan Presbyterian Church was to be enhanced by a new organ. The case of the new instrument was designed in the form of a flower calyx framing a cross placed in front of it (not yet installed in our picture). The laterally upward reaching wings of the case should form a harmonious contrast to the ceiling. The pipe shades with silver plated bars act as a fine webbing and the Cimbelstern, which is also silver plated, bears the coat-of-arms of the church. The larchwood of the case harmonizes well with the stone walls. The organ has 26 stops, two manuals and pedal. Its inner construction is visually immediately apparent: The upper part contains the wind chests and pipes of the Great (8’ Principal in the front). The Swell above is partly hidden by the front pipes. The wind chests and pipes of the Pedal are situated like wings on either side of the case.
